Cora’s Story – From Tragedy to Triumph and now ready for her forever home.
Beautiful Cora, a young Staffie cross, was left to suffer for three long days after being hit by a car. By the time she reached us, she was paralysed and in unimaginable pain. She had been given up on. 💔
But Cora refused to give up. With expert vet care, patience, and a lot of love, this brave girl fought her way back – and now she’s fully recovered and signed off by the vets! 🌟 She’s ready to leave her past behind and find the forever family she truly deserves.
Cora is clever, affectionate, and full of character. She adores her food and treats, which makes training easy and fun – she picks things up very quickly. Out on walks she shines: she has great recall (especially with a treat involved!) and enjoys meeting other dogs, sometimes joining in for play, sometimes doing her own thing.
💚 Cora’s favourite things:
Always carrying a ball in her mouth on walks 🎾
Sunbathing and digging in the garden 🌞
Snuggling up on the sofa for TV time 🛋️
Car rides (though seatbelts and harnesses aren’t her thing!) 🚗
Chewing toys (and sometimes slippers – but she’ll happily trade for a toy!) 🧸
She can be left for a couple of hours and travels well, but she’s happiest when close to her people. Cora can get a bit overexcited outside and may jump or nip, so she’d be better with an older family rather than young children.
She might be able to live with another dog if introductions are done carefully, but she would also thrive as the only pet soaking up all the attention.
🏡 Cora’s ideal home will have:
A secure garden where she can dig, sunbathe, and play 🌿A patient, loving family ready to continue her training 💕
Plenty of time for cuddles, walks, and ball games 🐶
After such a tragic start, Cora deserves a life filled with love, safety, and happiness. Could you be the one to give her the forever home she’s been waiting for? ✨
Ben and Marcus are doing wonderfully. Ben truly puts the “Springer” in Springer Spaniel—that’s for sure! We are incredibly proud of these little boys and amazed by how gentle and forgiving they are despite everything they’ve been through. They are gaining weight nicely, which makes our hearts so happy.
We are currently on day five of worming, and sadly, they are still passing worms. It has been one of the worst infestations we’ve ever seen—poor boys. Despite this rough start, their resilience continues to shine through.
We have received so many applications for them, but these boys were tortured, survived, and leaned on each other through it all. Because of that, we truly believe the very least we can do for them is ensure they go to a home together.
If you feel you could open your heart and home to both Ben and Marcus, please submit an application for them together. If you’ve already applied for one, we kindly ask that you reapply for both.
They are scheduled to begin their vaccines tomorrow, provided the vet feels they are healthy enough. We have noticed that Marcus can be a bit fearful around men, and we suspect his main abuser may have been male. However, with patience, gentle introductions, and consistent kindness, he quickly learns that not all men are the same.
Meet Daphne & Buzz – A Rooftop Rescue Duo Looking for Their Forever Home
Daphne and Buzz are two adorable 10 weeks old kittens with a story to tell. Found together on a roof, these little survivors have formed an unbreakable bond and are now ready to find a loving home — together.
These two are full of life and personality. They love to play and they play hard, keeping each other endlessly entertained with kitten zoomies, wrestling matches, and toy-chasing adventures. When playtime is over, they’re big fans of their food and never say no to a good meal!
As the day winds down and the house grows quiet, Daphne and Buzz reveal their softer side. That’s when they’re happiest to curl up for cuddles, purring themselves almost to sleep right beside you.
Their ideal home:
Adopted together – they’re happiest as a pair
A home with older children who understand kittens
Someone with time and patience to play, bond, and help them grow
A garden to explore when they’re older and ready
Daphne and Buzz are curious, affectionate, and full of potential. With the right family, they’ll grow into confident, loving companions who bring laughter, warmth, and plenty of kitten mischief into your life.
If you’re looking for double the love, double the fun, and a pair of kittens who truly belong together, Daphne and Buzz might just be your perfect match.
Daphne and Buzz live in Barnes
Alright. Name’s Byron. I’m 3 years old, handsome, emotionally available, and currently accepting applications for my forever home..
I started life as a street tom, independent, mysterious, dangerously good-looking. Then one day I spotted a massive posh mansion and thought, Yeah, that’ll do. Tried to move myself in like I owned the place.
Unfortunately, they already had a dog.
Nice enough, but absolutely rattled by me. Poor bloke. I lived outside to keep the peace until the humans called Protected Paws, and now here I am. Long story short: I’ve retired from the streets and I’m open to living in my own mansion ( a small house also accepted), must is a garden wanna really stretch my legs and sunbathe yano.
Despite my rugged past, I’m actually a sweet, caring, lovely boy. I enjoy affection, good vibes, and pretending I’m tough while secretly loving a cuddle. I’ve got excellent manners, strong opinions about dinner times, and zero interest in going back to my old life.
I’m currently in foster care in South East London, waiting patiently for someone to realise I’m obviously the best decision they’ll ever make.
If you’ve got a sofa, some snacks, and no dog that faints at the sight of me, we should talk.
Kind regards,
Byron
Myrtle – life hasn’t been fair to her. Let’s change that for her.
Myrtle came into our care when we were alerted to her giving birth on a building site. Unfortunately, people with no experience in animal rescue went against all of our advice. Instead of allowing us to safely capture the whole family, they removed some of her kittens, which sadly resulted in the death of one kitten.
When we finally found Myrtle, she had gone into hiding, believing humans were stealing her babies. She was understandably terrified and distressed. She went into foster care with the wonderful Kerrie, who has worked incredibly hard to gain her trust. Myrtle was reunited with her kittens and became the most amazing mum, raising them beautifully. They have all now gone off to their forever homes, and Myrtle is still waiting for hers.
Myrtle is shy at first but will eventually come around. She has shown positive interactions with other cats and is really growing in confidence.
We are looking for a loving home that will give her the patience she needs to show her true, kind, and lovely colours.
Please consider Myrtle. ❤️
Could you be Joe’s human? He is now all ready for adoption!
Joe came into our care a couple of months ago and he was a boy completely broken.
Six years ago, he was taken in off the streets by an elderly lady who, heartbreakingly, could barely care for herself let alone Joe. Joe is now about 13 years old. The condition he arrived in, and the smell clinging to his coat, told us that the environment he lived in must have been truly horrendous. He was absolutely filthy, neglected in every possible way.
The lady who loved him sadly passed away. It appears she had little to no support before she died and Joe stayed by her side, waiting with her body for several weeks before they were discovered. We still don’t understand how he managed to survive.
When Joe finally reached us, he was in a terrible state.
He was suffering from severe dental disease, covered in layers of filth, and passing bloody diarrhoea.
He is still quite shy but has been doing well in his wonderful foster home and now would love to find a safe, loving home of his own. He would like to be the only cat and would love access to a garden.
Oh Tommy, to us you matter!
Tommy came into our care the other day. He was trapped alongside a colony we are working with, and it was discovered that he was microchipped. The second the owner heard that he needed very expensive dental treatment, he was signed over quicker than Usain Bolt’s top speed!
Poor Tommy - despite being owned, he was never neutered, which is why his ears are torn apart. His black fur is streaked with silver, and he has patches of baldness from old battle scars. How could they watch their boy be injured day in and day out and just carry on with their lives? We will never, ever understand.
Tommy is now safe in foster with Kate, receiving all the love and care he deserves. He is having emergency dental treatment on Thursday, as his roots are exposed and causing him extreme pain.
We have our little collection bucket out and are rattling it in the hope that you can help us help him by donating.
Tommy will also be looking for a proper home with a garden very soon. He’s 4 years young and has a whole life ahead of him, ready to give you lots of love. If you’re interested, please apply.
Stunning Sterling!
This beautiful 6-month-old kitten arrived today. HOW LUCKY ARE WE!
He was handed in by a member of the public who had been feeding him (and others) for a little while. They were obviously multiplying quickly, as cats do! We are working through the little clan to get them all safely in.
Sterling was taken straight to Kitten to Cat in Kew for the chop, because there’s nothing we hate more than cat testicles! They quite clearly all fell in love with him almost instantly, and Lindsey, the nurse there, has been texting us about how perfect he is and how lovely and sweet his nature is.
Thank you to K2C for swiftly removing his naughty bits so we can find him a home quickly!
Sterling is now up for adoption, and whoever brings him into their life will have zero regrets.
Can you fit this very handsome boy into your life and your family’s lives? If so, apply!
We were told to rescue a cat but those cheeks are giving hamster vibes. He's gotta be storing a whole buffet in those bad boys!!!
What a hunk of a man!
Eamon would like a home with a garden
Our lovely Collette is now ready for a home, and we know her age may hinder some people from applying.
Collette is 11 years old. She was removed from a house that was in absolute squalor - litter trays filled with months and months of excrement, filth everywhere, and an eye-watering smell. There were three cats in the home, and we took all of them into safety. It was a truly sad situation.
Collette was suffering from severe dental disease, which caused her mouth to bleed and left her in constant agony. Thankfully, we were able to rush her in for dental treatment, where she had multiple teeth extracted.
Collette was clearly loved and cared for once, but addiction took over in her previous home, and whiskey was chosen over the cats. Because she was well cared for at the start of her life, she remains a very friendly, middle-aged lady.
She has lived with other cats before, so with the right introductions, we think she may accept another feline companion - perhaps one also getting on in years.
They can argue over who’s putting the catnip tea on and moan about the other one not getting the chicken out of the freezer to defrost… just like any elderly pair!
Collette shouldn’t be overlooked because of her age. Age is nothing but a number. They say life starts at 40, so it must be well underway at 60!
So let’s get this little one’s shopping trolley packed and get her settled into a lovely home - with you.
All you have to do is apply.
Welcome Clark to the crew!
Charming Clark is a street lad that no one claimed as their own. He’s been hanging around a home since 2024, often getting into scraps with the local feline residents because he wanted a bit of hanky-panky or their dinner!
Well, we can promise you dinner, Clark — but the other desires will soon be taken care of with a quick choppity-chop!
Clark is a sweet lad: calm, hella cute, and we’re estimating his age to be around 4 years old.
This big ginger hunk will make a family very happy one day. Could that family be yours?
Bella and Benji
These two were dumped at a vets not long before Christmas. We are not sure what happened to them, but people haven’t been kind to them. They are worried souls who really rely on each other for comfort, so we need to keep this lovely boy and girl together.
This duo, who we believe to be brother and sister, are approximately 6 months old. They have been in foster care and are really coming out of their shells, but due to their disturbed past, they will need time and patience.
These types of souls rarely get applications. Please help change that and give them a chance — it’s not their fault that humans can be cruel sometimes.
Welcome, Moose and Elmo!
Too cute - they are surreal! They came to us last week as their owner is not well and was struggling to look after them. These two 12-week-old boys are just the friendliest, most confident, funny little ones!
Whoever adopts this pair will be very lucky indeed.
Willing to try to win the jackpot? Apply!
Cranberry and Bailey
These two young ladies came from a home where they were being thrown - or were falling - from a balcony. They were forced to live on a freezing cold balcony, along with kittens. Some of the kittens fell to the ground, where we were able to rescue them. As you can understand, this experience has left Cranberry and Bailey as very worried little girls.
Cranberry is approximately 2 years old. She is the more confident of the two and actively seeks friendship with humans. Bailey needs time, but with patience she does begin to trust.
They can be stroked, but they don’t respond to typical socialised cat behaviours such as chasing toys or jumping onto the bed, because they have never experienced these things. They have never known play or comfort; they have never known love.
They are bonded and need to stay together. They have lived through abuse side by side, and the least we can do is keep them with each other.
We are looking for a kind, patient human who can help right the wrongs that were done to them and show them that not all humans are cruel.
Please consider adopting them. They truly deserve only the best.
Meet the Fabulous Five! Tinsel, Frosty, Twinkle, Midnight and Noir. 🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱
These adorable kittens are looking for their furever homes.
Each one has their own character but they are all full of love, curiosity, and purrs.
Tinsel and Frosty (boys), and Twinkle and Midnight (girls) need to be rehomed as pairs. Noir (boy) can be adopted alone. All of them will need outdoor or garden access.
Each has their own unique personality, but all are filled with love, curiosity, and plenty of purrs.
Midnight may seem a little reserved at first, but once she warms up, she’ll steal your heart with her stunning big eyes.
Frosty is clever, food-motivated, and he loves a good belly rub.
Twinkle is a confident feline with matching nose and paw pads who adores a crinkle mouse toy.
Tinsel is a bit shy compared to his siblings, but once he feels safe, he loves to jump, climb, chase a wand, and then settle in for cuddles.
And Noir, our little panther, may be small, but he’s a stealthy hunter with excellent cuddling skills.
If you're ready to welcome a little bundle of joy into your life, consider giving one (or more!) of these sweet kittens a second chance🏡💖
Sparrow’s New Year’s resolution is to find someone to love him.
Sparrow came to us a while back. At just three years old, he had an eye injury which caused his eye to rupture, and sadly it had to be removed. He was also severely underweight at only 2kg, which for an adult male cat is very, very close to death.
In our care, Sparrow has been nothing short of perfect. He’s a complete snuggle bug. He can get a little spooked by loud noises, but otherwise he is extremely social and not bothered by other cats.
We think Sparrow would love a safe garden to explore, but most importantly, he needs humans around often to make sure he always has a lap to curl up in!
Sparrow has had a tough start in life please make his New Year’s resolution come true and adopt him!
Oh, stunning Mabel is growing into a pretty little lady. It feels like forever ago that she came to Protected Paws as a bag of bones, with kittens not far from death. She’s truly excelled since then.
Mabel came from a very bad situation. She was repeatedly bred with little time in between litters, with no care for her health. As long as payment was received for her kittens, she was allowed to deteriorate more and more.
Mabel is approximately 2 years old and had known nothing but neglect and abuse until she was handed over to us. Thankfully, she hasn’t held any grudges and is the nicest, kindest girl. She simply needs a forever home that will worship the ground she walks on.
Could that be you? Apply today!
She’s currently in foster care in SE3.
Noel, Ivy and Felix
We rescued this beautiful trio of kittens two boys and one girl from Brixton. They were born in a staircase behind a block of flats, just off the train tracks. Sadly, we were unable to locate their mother. We can only assume she was lost to the tracks, possibly while trying to bring food home for her young.
Before she disappeared, she was clearly a wonderful mum, because these little souls are in great condition.
Noel and Felix have very unusual colouring chocolate brown, which you don’t often see and is incredibly eye-catching. Their tuxedo sister, Ivy, is a pretty little lady.
They are approximately 3–4 months old. To be completely transparent, they are shy souls. They are slowly warming to their foster, Elaine, and relaxing into her touch. They will be shy at first and simply need time to realise that the world isn’t so scary.
Could you offer one, two, or even all three of these little beauties a home and show them that the world can be a kind place?
Welcome Mrs Claus
Mrs Claus couldn’t be bothered with the round-the-world trip tomorrow night, so she headed straight to Protected Paws instead it all just felt like too much effort. She’s left Santa and Rudolph to make sure all the children still receive their presents and has carefully organised what goes where.
Mrs Claus is simply looking for an easy life, where she’ll be loved for her beauty and her kind nature. She’s clearly not one for travelling and honestly, who can blame her? It’s cold out there, and Christmas can be stressful for the best of us.
Mrs Claus is approximately 1–2 years old. She is very friendly and will happily play with the presents she helped make this Christmas. Can you offer this lovely lady her very own stocking and forever home?
Meet Cassian
Our stunning 2-year-old boy is looking for his forever home
Cassian is currently in foster care in Twickenham, London, but his foster family will be going away on the 23rd, so we would really love to have him settled into a permanent home before then.
He’s been in foster for less than 24 hours and has already shown what a sweetheart he is
Very friendly and affectionate
Loves head bumps and cuddles
Tap the sofa and he’ll hop straight up to say hello
Enjoys watching the world go by from the window
Absolutely obsessed with a fluffy tail toy 🤣
Super curious straight into exploring and sniffing everything!
Cassian enjoys a good cuddle session, but he’s great at communicating his boundaries too if it’s enough, he’ll let you know with a little meow followed by a gentle nibble.
He was also making the cutest chirping noises at the door, likely because he could smell the resident cats. No introductions yet as it’s very early days, but he definitely seemed curious rather than bothered.
Cassian needs a home with a garden, where he can safely enjoy the outdoors and keep his active mind happy.
He is a beautiful, loving boy who will make an amazing companion. If you think you could offer Cassian the home he deserves, please get in touch he’s ready to charm his way straight into your heart
Justin came in as a very very nervous boy. He would hiss and hide whenever I was near. Fast forward 2 weeks and he sleeps next to us 🩵 we’re so proud of Justin’s journey so far. He is now a happy, playful and loving kitty.
🏴 Oakley the Apparent Scottish Fold 🤣
Meet Oakley.
Possibly Scottish.
Definitely not a Scottish Fold.
Turns out we are all more Scottish than Mr Oakley - and honestly, that doesn’t put us off one bit. 💁♀️
Oakley was born into the hands of a greeder (yes, that kind 🙄), sold on as a “Scottish Fold” to someone who clearly skipped the Googling part, and then dumped in a bag on a main road.
How do we know? Because the greeder forgot one tiny detail… changing the microchip.
Silly Billy. 🥴
Fast-forward to now
Oakley is safe, handsome, and very much enjoying life in our care.
Has he climbed the Highlands recently?
Are his ears a little… too straight?
Is he a whisky connoisseur? Absolutely not.
But is he:
✔️ 4 years old
✔️ Very, very sweet
✔️ Playful
✔️ Cuddly
✔️ Loving
✔️ A professional goof
YES. All of the above.
Oakley is looking for a loving forever home where he will never be dumped in a bag again - maybe even one that includes a trip (Scottish accent optional).
Our lovely Duchess Chloe!
Chloe came into our care this week after facing euthanasia because she was stressed by a resident dog. We thought, well, that’s a silly idea - come here, pretty girl.
Chloe is 9 years old, a Ragdoll, and hella pretty. She is very sweet and loving, and just absolutely perfect.
Chloe would suit a nice, quiet home with an older person or couple, where she can potter around, show you lots of love, and expect it in return.
Chloe needs a home with no other pets or young children.
Can you offer this designer baby girl a home?
Meet Lovey named for her heart-shaped nose!
Lovey truly is the definition of her name. This little lady is only about six months old. She had been hanging around an estate and followed a family home after they gave her some attention and she didn’t leave until we arrived a week later!
Unfortunately, her finders were unable to keep her, so they called us out. As soon as we met her, this beautiful little kitten was like, “HI KERRY AND SAM, I'M LOVEY! LET ME GIVE YOU A BIG CUDDLE!” and she jumped straight into their laps as if they’d been best friends for years.
Lovey is so confident and just wants alllllll the love. She’s absolutely adorable!
❤️ If you want perfect… apply now! ❤️
