Humans, older cats, even Poppet the dog — 10–12 week old Pip makes friends wherever she goes. She can regularly be found curled up with Poppet, follows her foster around the house and loves kisses, cuddles and sleeping tucked into the curve of a back or behind a pair of legs.

But don’t let all that affection fool you, friendly doesn’t equal delicate! She’s happy to play rough and tumble with her brothers, win a wrestling match with them and then snuggle up with you afterwards.

Pip’s brothers have now been adopted and she had a home lined up too, but unfortunately it fell through through no fault of her own. So this fabulous little girl is ready to find the household she can charm next.

The name is Sir Barristan. But you may call him Barry.

He has the title. He has the magnificent white gloves. He has the imposing stare of a cat who expects standards to be maintained.

He also sleeps upside down wrapped around a scratching post and lets people balance his favourite pink mouse on his head.

So perhaps “Barry” is more accurate.

Our handsome knight came into rescue as one of ten cats who had been dumped together. Barry was very poorly when he arrived, but he fought his way back to health and has made a fantastic recovery. There are no ongoing health concerns and, now that he’s feeling good again, his real personality has emerged. And he is an absolute lovebug.

Barry wants to be where his people are. He loves attention, loves company and considers sharing your bed less of an invitation and more of an arrangement you have already agreed to.

His loyalties are easily secured with Lick-e-Lix, while his beloved pink mouse appears to be his most treasured possession. Although, judging by the photographic evidence, its role varies between toy and ceremonial headwear.

Barry lived happily with the other cats in his colony, so he could potentially share his kingdom with another friendly cat after careful introductions. He’s also fantastic with older children and has happily lived around children aged 10+. He hasn’t been tested with younger children.

He will need a home with a safe garden to explore once fully settled.

At just three years old, this gorgeous boy has already survived being abandoned and seriously unwell. Yet somehow he’s come through it all as a funny, affectionate, people-loving cat who just wants to be part of a family.

Miss Ricky: part cuddlebug, part chaos, currently part mystery.

We’ve been calling this gorgeous 4–5 month old kitten Miss Ricky. There is, however, one small administrative issue: we’re not actually certain Miss Ricky is a Miss. 

The vet will settle the matter on the 26th. Ricky, meanwhile, could not care less and is far too busy getting up to mischief.

Because Ricky is involved.

Going somewhere? Ricky would like to come. 

Doing something? Ricky needs to supervise (possibly while perched on your shoulder). 

Eating something? Ricky definitely needs further information.

They’re playful, curious, extremely food-motivated and ready for adventure. Toys are excellent. The cat tree is excellent. Basically, life is excellent when you’re a kitten with this much confidence.

Underneath all that chaos is a serious cuddlebug. Ricky loves being close to their humans, will happily perch on your shoulder to be close to you and has discovered that a dressing gown is essentially a luxury kitten sleeping bag.

There is also a tiny spicy streak. Occasionally Ricky gets a little overstimulated and the sass appears — generally a reliable indication that someone has stayed up past their bedtime and needs a nap.

They’ve also become increasingly fascinated by the cats and world outside the window, so Ricky is looking for a home with a garden to explore once they’re old enough and properly settled.

And can we discuss that coat? Black, smoky, stripy, silvery and apparently designed by someone who couldn’t pick just one pattern.

JACOB NEEDS SOMEONE TO SEE PAST HIS DIAGNOSIS 

We’ve healed his wounds. We’ve cleaned away the discharge. We’ve applied the creams and made him comfortable. But unfortunately, no matter what we did, Jacob’s life on the streets didn’t just leave external wounds it also affected his little kidneys.

Jacob came into our care at just 4 years old with horrific injuries caused by being an unneutered tomcat on the streets. He had been in fights so severe that the wounds were heading towards his jugular and really weren’t far off.

His wounds took a long time to heal, but his fantastic foster, Petra, was there day and night, keeping our boy clean, comfortable and pain-free.

Unfortunately, we then discovered something we couldn’t heal: Jacob has kidney disease.

We suspect Jacob may have come into contact with a toxic substance while scavenging for food or shelter, which has caused permanent damage to his kidneys.

We’ve done blood tests, and then repeated them for comparison, and we are incredibly happy to say that his kidney values are currently stable. 

But what does this mean for Jacob?

Firstly, we know what normally happens when we post a cat with a medical condition: no one applies.

Secondly, we simply cannot tell you how quickly, or slowly, his kidneys may deteriorate. So far, things are very promising. We hope Jacob lives forever  obviously!  but there is no way for us to predict how long his kidneys will continue to cope.

What we can tell you is that Jacob is here now. He is happy. He is stable. And he desperately deserves a home.

Jacob would absolutely love a rural home where he can run, play and explore before coming home to snuggle up with his humans.

And when we say he loves humans, we mean it. Jacob is a lap cat × 1000. 😂❤️

Cats, however? Absolutely not. He is really not a fan and after everything he went through on the streets, can you blame him?

So we are begging.

Is there someone out there willing to look beyond the words “kidney disease” and give this beautiful 4-year-old boy the home he deserves?

 Cordelia — this flower wants to be picked.

Bring this bunch of beauty home and all she needs is food, water and lots of love. In return, she'll grow into the loveliest little friend. 

Cordelia came from a home that didn't respect her. She didn't receive the veterinary care she needed. She was literally thrown out into the fields. Food was so scarce, you'd think they believed she could survive on photosynthesis.

At just 8 months old, Cordelia had already been pregnant and raised her babies — while still only a baby herself.

Thankfully, the neighbourhood put their foot down and came to Cordelia's rescue. Her owners didn't even wave her goodbye. They simply let her out knowing we were coming, and when we arrived, we were told to collect her from the street.

Cordelia deserved so much better.

She was quickly diagnosed with flea-bite dermatitis, with parasites leaving her poor skin sore and inflamed.

Poor baby girl. 

But look at her now! 

She's safe in foster and has been spayed hence today's rather fabulous flower collar! 😂 Don't worry, Cordelia will be flower-costume-less on collection.

But just like a flower, she can still brighten your home.

She can make you happier.

She can lift your mood.

She can bring comfort when you're sad.

She can make you feel loved.

And sometimes, she might just make a bad day feel a little better.

But this flower has thorns and sometimes gets a little prickerly so we think best no young children.

A gorgeous 3-4 year old boy, who’s a former stray with a big personality. This affectionate boy with a little vicar collar, loves human company and will happily follow you from room to room just to flop dramatically at your feet. If you work from home, prepare for a new supervisor—Rambo will claim your desk as his personal chaise lounge! 

While he’s not a full-time lap cat, he loves his cuddles and has plenty of sweet moments. He’s a fun, playful guy who appreciates a human who respects his boundaries when playtime is over.

Balaram spent three weeks lost. Now his favourite place is wherever his person happens to be.

This gorgeous 2–3-year-old boy is an absolute sweetheart who really loves company. He’ll sit on your lap, come when you call him, greet you with headbutts and follow you around just because he likes knowing you’re there.

He doesn’t need constant entertainment. You can work, potter around or get on with your day — Balaram is perfectly happy doing his own thing alongside you. He just doesn’t particularly want to be left out of it.

And then there are the noises. Balaram makes the sweetest little whirrs when he sees you, wants food or has something important to communicate. He also winks a lot and somehow manages to look permanently surprised.

It’s hard to believe this is the same cat who arrived underweight, frightened and in fight-or-flight mode after being lost for three weeks. We don’t know much about his life before then, but nobody was looking for him, and when we contacted the owners registered on his microchip they surrendered him to us. 

His foster started feeding him and talking to him, and once Balaram realised she was safe, everything changed. The defensive little cat disappeared and out came the headbutts, cuddles and requests for attention. His foster is completely smitten.

He is learning to play and occasionally gets overexcited or overstimulated during fuss and gives a gentle nip. He just needs someone who can recognise when he needs a breather.

Balaram loves having a garden. He likes exploring — but he likes his people even more.

He is okay with children and his ideal home is calm and secure, with someone who is around plenty.

Balaram is a sweet, slightly dopey, affectionate boy who plays lying on his back and has discovered that having humans of your very own is actually rather wonderful.

At just 10 weeks old, these two little boys are ridiculously fluffy, ridiculously soft and already have very different ideas about how to approach life.

🖤 Inky is the more outgoing of the pair – confident, relatively calm and laid-back. He’s playful, friendly and generally takes life in his (very fluffy) stride.

🩶 Cinder is a glorious contradiction. Once he knows you, it’s full MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY. New person at the door? Absolutely not. Cinder has left the building. Give him a little time and suddenly the real Cinder appears – playful, funny and full of personality.

Both enjoy being petted and are particularly partial to a good chin scratch. There’s definite future lap-cat potential here… they’re just 10 weeks old and currently have far too many Important Kitten Things to do to sit still for very long. A bit of fuss, a bit of a snuggle and then – BYE – they’re off again.

And then there’s the fluff. They really are as soft as they look but these are not wash-and-go kittens. Brushing is mandatory. Those beautiful coats will need regular grooming and even their fluffy little paws will need the occasional trim.

But really… LOOK AT THEM. Worth it.

Inky & Cinder adore each other and must be adopted together. They can live with children and other kitten-friendly animals, and they’ll need a garden for adventures when they’re old enough.

Oh, Andre... our most unwanted cat.

Every time we post him, another cat gets chosen. Another cat gets the applications. Another cat gets the sofa, the warm bed, and the family to call their own.

And Andre waits.

He always seems to be the last to be noticed.

Like so many entire male cats, Andre was left to fade into the background. Labelled as "feral," forgotten by society, and left to literally rot on the streets. The scars across his body tell the story that words never truly can—years of fighting to survive, of cold nights, hunger, fear, and pain. Skin torn apart simply because his hormones told him to fight for territory, for food, for the right to exist.

Andre is approximately five years old. The street life may have aged him before his time, but beneath every scar is still a young gentleman who just wants to know what it feels like to belong.

He doesn't ask for much.

A quiet home. No children. A garden to sit in when the sun shines. A human who understands that trust isn't given overnight when you've spent your life learning that people don't always mean kindness.

Brienne welcomed herself to Protected Paws alongside lots more cats. Honestly, we’ve lost count.

Basically, a woman in Sutton rocked up with a pram and started throwing cats out over the course of a few days - witnessed by people and caught on camera. Massive bellend, if you ask us, but hey, sadly this kind of thing happens every day!

Anyway, these sweet-natured felines aren’t going to let that piece of trash bring them down. They are Protected Paws now, and that’s exactly what they will forever be - protected from evil people.

Brienne is approximately 8 months old, and her lovely foster, Myriam, has written a wonderfully honest and transparent piece about her to make sure she finds the perfect home - one that definitely doesn’t involve any more cat-throwing-out days!

From Myriam:

We have a little minx, opinionated with lovely little chirps to punctuate… anything! She’s still skittish, but every day she relaxes a little more and now spends most of her time out in the open. She sweetly calls out for cuddles when she wakes up.

She loves other cats, her food, and the acknowledgement that she might be small but mighty. Patience and considered movements in her presence, please, and she’ll come out more and more. A smidge of a drama queen, maybe?

In foster in Fulham

HONEY - three years old, and already let down far too many times. 

Honey came into our care after spending weeks in someone’s garden, emaciated and trying to keep herself and her babies alive.

She was microchipped. She had an “owner”. And he lived just a few doors away.

We can think of several better words than owner.

We explained that Honey was extremely unwell. She needed veterinary treatment and hospitalisation. She was suffering from severe malnutrition, a uterine infection and mastitis after being bred from and left to struggle.

He told us he would call us back.

He never did.

He didn't call to ask whether she survived, ask how she was doing, didn't come looking for her.

Nothing.

And Honey wasn't the only un neutered cat in that household.

At just THREE YEARS OLD, Honey's body told the story of a cat who had been bred from and bred from, while seemingly nobody worried about what it was doing to her.

Honey is a Protected Paws cat. And she will never be let down like that again.

We hospitalised her. We got her the veterinary treatment she desperately needed. We fed her, cared for her and gave her body the chance to recover.

And somehow, after everything humans have put her through, Honey still absolutely adores people.

She is one of the sweetest cats you could ever meet. 

She's incredibly affectionate, very friendly, brilliant with other cats and can live with children.

Now we need to find the person who will finally choose her.

Not for the kittens she can produce.

Not until she becomes inconvenient.

Not until she gets sick.

Honey needs a loving home with a garden where she can finally enjoy being a cat. Somewhere she can sleep safely, explore, have feline friends, curl up with her humans and never again wonder whether anybody is coming back for her.

Fiona – the best mummy ever. ❤️

We took in Fiona and her babies this weekend after they were found living in squalor in a garden in Peckham and brought to a local vet.

Poor Fiona's condition told the story of everything she had been through. Her tiny body was painfully thin, fleas were jumping all over her, her tummy was full of worms, and every bone was visible through her coat. Despite trying her absolute best to care for her kittens, she simply hadn't had enough food herself.

Tragically, Fiona also arrived with an extremely high temperature and was pregnant again. To save her life, we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to perform an emergency spay and terminate the pregnancy. She was admitted for emergency surgery, placed on intravenous fluids and antibiotics, and we're so relieved to say she has now turned a corner.

Despite everything she has endured, Fiona is the sweetest, friendliest little soul. She hasn't let her past change her loving nature. At just two years old, she deserves a family who will cherish her for the rest of her life. With good nutrition, plenty of love, and a safe home, it won't take long for this beautiful girl to recover.

Yes, Layla and Susie are boys. The names were already in place by the time this minor administrative error came to light, and the kittens certainly aren’t bothered, so we’re rolling with it.

Layla, our black-and-white boy, has serious main-character energy. Confident, playful and determined to be involved in absolutely everything.

Susie, black with the yellow collar, is curious, vocal and likes to follow you around supervising whatever you happen to be doing. A boy named Sue who also has opinions.

MAX & ARTY

Arty, black with the blue collar, is the people-lover. Purry, affectionate and already looking like the one most likely to become a dedicated lap cat.

Max, black with the red collar, is a little more independent. Playful, easy-going and an all-round good boy.

All four came into our care with their mum. She had been overbred and was no longer coping with motherhood, and the kittens were underweight. Since then, these little boys have been thriving and are now ready for homes of their own.

Each pair needs a home with a safe garden for when they’re old enough to explore outside.

Marcus – what a legend! 

Marcus came into our care this week at approximately 8 years old. We know he may struggle to get applications because of his age, but honestly, anyone would be lucky to have him in their life.

He’s the definition of a lap cat. He is incredibly kind and just wants all the love he can get. 

Marcus was found collapsed with severe bite wounds that had been left for so long that they had become badly infected, leading to sepsis and severe dehydration. Luckily, he was brought to vets who weren’t ready to give up on him, and he has made an incredible turnaround.

A huge thank you to Mimi at Creature Comforts Chiswick for helping our lovely boy. 

Marcus is now in foster with Catherine and her family in SW17, and from the second he arrived, he was up on their laps giving lots of cuddles!

He has shown no aggression towards other cats during the very limited interactions he has had with them.

Poirot – a big boy with one wish: a home. 

Poirot was rocking up and walking around the neighbourhood, tired and alone. Just a young, 2-year-old cat who spent every day wondering why he was never chosen.

He looked through the window of a house with two cats inside and probably thought to himself, I want to be treated the way they are.

So, he stood at the door waiting for it to open… and it did.

Ben looked at him and said, “Come in, mate. I’m a foster for Protected Paws. Let’s get you some help.”

Ben quickly called us. We scanned Poirot for a microchip, but sadly he didn’t have one, and we noticed he wasn’t neutered.

We explained to Ben that we are so incredibly full and really had nowhere for Poirot to go, but he clearly needed us.

Ben took a deep breath, looked at this big boy and then back at his two cats – one an end-of-life foster and the other adopted from Protected Paws – and said, “Well, we saved these two. I guess we can’t let him down. You can stay here… and I think you look like a Poirot.”

And just like that, Poirot was safe. ❤️

Poirot has absolutely lapped up life in foster and now enjoys all the things he should have been born into. Soft furnishings, never having to feel hungry, no more fleas crawling all over him, and now he’s neutered, the anxiety of constantly needing to fight for territory has been lifted like a weight from his shoulders.

Poirot is the kindest soul anyone could meet. He’s friendly, sweet and makes you smile every day with his big chunky cheeks and massive heart.

Poirot isn’t too sure about other cats, but he definitely wants a garden to explore once he’s settled into his new home.

Can we prove to Poirot that he matters? That we see him and we love him?

Meet Aria & Cersei.

At just 8 months old, these sisters couldn't be more different. One is fearless, one is cautious, but together they're the perfect team.

Game of Thrones fans will recognise the names. Thankfully, these two have rewritten the script – instead of plotting against each other, they make each other braver every single day.

Cersei is the confident one. She'll greet you when you walk into the room, chat away with cheerful little meows, follow you from room to room and investigate absolutely everything. If there's a toy to chase or a game to play, she's first in the queue. She adores people, loves being handled, isn't fussy about food and completely loses her mind over catnip.

Aria prefers to take life a little more slowly. She's thoughtful, gentle and quietly curious, watching from a safe distance before deciding to join in. She communicates with sweet little chirps, loves chasing toys across the floor, hiding in boxes and playing from underneath furniture. Human affection is still something she's learning to trust, so she'll need a family happy to let her build confidence in her own time.

Together they're something really special. Cersei gives Aria the confidence to explore, while Aria gives Cersei someone to share every adventure with. They wrestle, chase each other around the house, share toys, look for one another if they're apart and have even been known to visit the litter tray together.

Patrick – his heart is so full of love, it's forgetting its actual job. ❤️

Patrick is struggling to find a home because his big ticker has a little problem.

This handsome 2-year-old boy is one of the friendliest, sweetest cats you could ever meet. He was found living on a farm, but being so affectionate, it was never the life he wanted. Patrick dreams of sofas, cuddles, fuss, and being by your side—and that's exactly how he ended up with us.

During the recent heatwave, his wonderful foster, Charis, noticed he was struggling more than expected and was panting. Thankfully, she knows cats well enough to realise this wasn't normal and contacted us straight away.

After a veterinary examination, Patrick was found to have a heart murmur, so we referred him for a heart scan. He was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), the most common heart disease in cats. It causes the muscular walls of the heart to thicken, reducing the space available for pumping blood and preventing the heart from relaxing properly.

Now we know what we're dealing with, Patrick is on medication and doing so much better. But despite being one of the sweetest boys you'll ever meet, he's still waiting for someone to give him a chance.

You can't medically heal Patrick's heart, but you could heal it emotionally by giving him the loving home he's always dreamed of.

We know money is tight at Protected Paws, but we've made the decision that if Patrick's heart condition requires treatment in the future, we will cover the costs. We don't want his diagnosis to be the reason he spends his life overlooked.

🖤 Jimothy is the "good angel boy" of the family... at least according to his foster, who definitely doesn't have favourites! He has the softest fur of the three and loves hiding under the sofa blanket before launching surprise attacks on his unsuspecting siblings.

🤍 Joffrey may not be the greatest intellectual of his generation, but what he lacks in strategy he makes up for in enthusiasm. He'll happily repeat the same failed plan over and over, somehow still convinced this time it'll work. He's also firmly convinced that all human food belongs to him.

🖤🤍Jemima proves that girls can be every bit as mischievous as the boys. She's fearless, happily taking on both brothers in play fights and giving as good as she gets. But beneath that confident exterior is a softer side – she's never happier than when Mum is giving her a good grooming.

Those three noisy kittens above didn't raise themselves. Behind every chaotic family is one very competent woman. Meet Juno.

While her three babies were busy stealing the spotlight (and demanding dinner at full volume!), their wonderful mum has quietly been doing what she's always done best – looking after everyone else.

Juno is a beautiful 1–2-year-old young mum with the kind of effortless elegance that makes us joke she could be a cat model. Sleek, graceful and blessed with stunning markings, she's every bit as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.

She has a gentle, friendly nature and likes affection on her own terms, happily coming over for fuss before curling up beside you on the bed at night. She's calm, affectionate and a joy to have around.

Juno's story makes her all the more remarkable. She was found living as a stray in a garden with her kittens. Tragically, the family lost one kitten to a fox before they could be rescued. Despite everything she'd been through, Juno kept her little family clean, healthy and well fed. Even now, at meal times, she still waits to make sure her kittens have eaten before tucking into her own food.

Now that her kittens are growing up and finding homes of their own, we'd love to see Juno find the happy ending she deserves too.

We think she's earned a home where she can finally eat a meal without three tiny freeloaders demanding first dibs.

Some cats fall in love with everyone they meet. Julia prefers to make friends properly.

At just one year old, Julia is a beautiful little tabby who likes to take her time getting to know new people. Like many cats, she can be a little shy when she first meets someone or finds herself in a new environment, so don't be surprised if she takes a little while to say hello. She likes to get the measure of people first.

Give her that little bit of patience, though, and you'll discover a wonderfully sweet, affectionate little cat who loves being around her humans. Once she feels safe, expect gentle head bumps, loud purrs, cuddles on the sofa and a warm little body curled up beside you in bed at night.

Julia is still a young cat with a playful, curious spirit. Every shelf deserves investigating, every room needs inspecting and every interesting noise simply has to be checked out. She's chatty, loves to play and enjoys being involved in whatever you're doing.

Julia came into our care after her previous owner became too unwell to keep her. She's looking for a family who understands that not every cat shows their true personality straight away. Once she's settled, she's an incredibly loving companion, as her foster family will happily tell you.

Julia would love a home with a secure garden where she can safely explore once she's settled. She's never shown any aggression in foster and we think she could happily live with respectful children. She may also be able to live with another friendly cat following careful introductions.

Meet elegant Isobella - a very sweet 2 year old, mum of six who has officially completed parenting! 

Now her babies are ready to leave the nest, she too is looking for her forever home.

Her foster describes her as sweet natured, patient and very docile. Whilst she isn’t very playful at the moment, we think she’s just exhausted from raising 6 energetic kittens! 

She’s not a lap cat and doesn’t look for cuddles, but will sleep next to you at night and appreciates gentle, calm affection. 

As she gets her energy back, her personality may shine through even more.

Does your home feel like it's missing something? We suspect it's two mischievous kittens.

At around 10 weeks old, these brothers are looking for a forever home together. Separating them would mean depriving Archie of his favourite wrestling partner and Dante of his best cuddle buddy, so they're very much a two-for-one deal.

Dante is the gentle giant of the family. The biggest kitten in the litter, he has a serious love affair with food, an even bigger love of cuddles, and loves climbing onto your legs whenever he wants your attention. When he's not play-fighting with his siblings, you'll usually find him curled up next to you in bed. Sweet, fluffy and endlessly affectionate, he's impossible not to fall in love with.

Archie is the eldest of the litter and has enough personality for several kittens. Confident, sociable and wonderfully cheeky, he's always the first to investigate something new and firmly believes life is one big adventure. He's endlessly playful, loves keeping himself entertained, and once he's's finished causing tiny amounts of kitten mischief, he's more than happy to curl up beside you.

Together they're the perfect comedy duo. Dante brings the cuddles, Archie brings the chaos, and between them they'll fill your home with laughter, zoomies and plenty of reasons to keep your phone camera within easy reach.

Oh, Sansa, you're safe now, little one.

Sansa was one of 11 cats dumped from a pram in Sutton. Thankfully, she was abandoned right outside the home of Megan, a student veterinary nurse who we work closely with.

Our doors were firmly closed due to a lack of space, but with 11 cats -some of them kittens - with nowhere else to go, everyone scrambled to help, and our wonderful foster carers kindly squeezed them all in.

Sansa is approximately 2- 4 years old and is cat-friendly. She has obviously had a rough life: an untold number of kittens, emaciated, and covered in fleas. The same story, different cat. Yet, as with so many rescue cats, Sansa is incredibly forgiving. She doesn't hold people's horrid behaviour against anyone and remains the kindest, sweetest, most beautiful little girl.

Let's find this pretty lady a home where she will be truly loved, because one person's trash is another person's treasure.

Benjamin the beauty is a 4-year-old sweetheart. When he's not head-butting you for attention, he's off wandering the garden and entertaining himself. This fluffy ginger boy loves spending time with his family and has a sweet, playful nature—except when it comes to the vets; Benjamin definitely isn't besties with them! 🤣

Benjamin is looking for a lovely home, perhaps somewhere with plenty of land for him to explore and neighbours to visit. He would prefer to be the only cat in his castle.

Meet our gorgeous Mane!

Bold, confident, full of affection with a fabulous toothbrush tasche, Mane is approximately 8 years old and will make herself instantly at home 😂

She isn't shy about asking for fuss and will happily let you know when she'd like a stroke. Just as importantly, she'll also let you know when she's had enough—Mane knows her own mind and appreciates having her boundaries respected.

Mane would love a home with access to a secure garden, where she can explore, soak up the sunshine, and establish herself as the queen of the neighbourhood.

Because she can occasionally give a little nip or swipe when she's ready for some alone time, we'd recommend a home without young children. We don't yet know how she feels about living with other cats or pets.

From Cole – I'm just a cat, sitting in front of a human, asking them to love me.

My name is Cole. For ten years, the streets were my home. I could never settle in one place because every place eventually became dangerous. The pain from the fights became my constant. The danger meant I lived in permanent flight mode, and loneliness left me numb. You never had to wait long for the next fight, the next territory I had to defend, or the next place I had called home that I was forced to leave.

Until one day-ten years too late-Protected Paws saved me.

As they cleaned my wounds, I would flinch. I froze in fear. I would hide, trying to disappear, because I had known nothing but torture. I didn't know life could be different. But these people were kind. These people would heal me.

I've now been in foster care for a few months, and my coat, once dull with patches of fur missing from old abscesses, is now glossy and fluffy. The smell of infection is gone. My skeleton is no longer visible beneath my skin because I finally have some weight on me, and my belly no longer aches with the hunger I once lived with every day.

I know I won't be the first cat many people choose - if I'm chosen at all. I never was. I'll also need time in a new home to understand that you won't hurt me because I'm still learning how to trust. But once you let me in, and once I learn to trust you, I promise I'll be a kind, caring, quiet companion. Above all else, I'll be grateful every single day that my life is no longer what it once was.

All I want is a home. A forever home.

A sister is someone who walks beside you through every season of life, sharing your joys, easing your sorrows, and reminding you where you belong. Belle and Aurora have shared every chapter of their lives together, and now they're looking for a home where they can continue their story side by side.

Belle and Aurora were just kittens themselves when their owners closed the door on them and locked them outside. Life was tough, but they had each other. Side by side, they faced every challenge that came their way.

Both girls fell pregnant and struggled to survive on the streets, hunting for every meal. No matter how hungry they were, they always shared what little food they found. Every meal was split equally between them.

As their bellies grew heavy with kittens, so did their fears. Hormones made them protective as they prepared to raise families in a cold, dark, and uncertain world. Yet the love they shared made everything a little easier. As long as they had each other, nothing seemed quite so overwhelming.

Then Protected Paws arrived.

The traps were set, and although they were wary of walking into them, they did it together. When the trap doors slammed shut, they didn't panic. Once again, they stood side by side.

Foster care was frightening at first. The world was suddenly full of new sights, smells, and sounds. But through it all, they found comfort in each other, huddled together and hiding side by side.

When labour began, kitten after kitten arrived. No one was even sure which kittens belonged to which mother biologically, but it didn't matter. These babies had two fiercely devoted mums to love and protect them. As their little family blended together, Belle and Aurora raised every kitten as one, always side by side.

Now Belle and Aurora have raised their young into the most beautiful, confident kittens, and it's finally their turn to rest. Their turn to find a home. Their turn to begin the next and final chapter of their story.

Meet Dudley ❤️

Dudley may not fit the stereotypical profile of the “handsome, fluffy cat” that people scroll past and instantly fall in love with - we know that. But what Dudley is, is kind, gentle, forgiving, and full of love despite everything he’s been through.

Dudley is around 9 years old, and the condition he came to us in was nothing short of heartbreaking. His beautiful tabby fur was stained with blood and filth from the life he had been surviving on the streets. His body carried scars from countless fights caused by being unneutered and left to fend for himself. Simply looking at Dudley tells the story of a life that certainly didn’t begin happily.

But we are determined to make sure he gets the happy ending he deserves.

Despite everything, Dudley has the sweetest soul. He is cat friendly and quickly made friends with the resident Protected Paws cats. He has such a calm, gentle nature and has slowly learned to trust and feel safe.

Dudley is looking for a home with:

✅ An enclosed garden

✅ Other friendly cats if possible

✅ Older children would be fine

One thing we do need to mention is that Dudley is FIV positive.  He is fine to live with other cats who do not have FIV (as you can see from his photos) and the virus does not transmit to humans.

We know that for some people this may make them overlook him, but every animal deserves love, safety, and a family of their own.
